I have a Dell Inspiron 530 that I got at the very end of August. The computer is running wirelessly to a Netgear wireless router. The computer's internet worked fine up until about a month ago. And its starting to bug the hell out of me. On my connection on the taskbar at bottom of screen the connection shows none. But when I place mouse over it, it says Connection status : unknown Server Execution : failed
I have no idea what is wrong with it. I uninstalled a bunch of stuff figuring that was the problem. I no longer have my anti virus protection (Norton) Would that be a problem? Is it my router? Can I delete all files/programs to solve this, if so how? Please help me.. Internet works now, but very slowly!
Wireless Internet Connection Problems, 10 Pts to Best Answer?kawasaki
It sounds like a problem with your router because of the "server execution failed" message. Try the following techniques (one at a time) to reset your connection.
First thing to try is to click on the network icon at the bottom in the taskbar and select repair, which will reset your ip address with the router. If that doesn't work,
Second, unplug your router for a minute and then plug it back in and see if that helps (you can also run the repair option again here). If that doesn't work,
Third, reset your router with a paperclip inserted in the reset hole on the back (see your manual) for 20 seconds, then remove it, unplug your router again for a minute and plug it back in (this will reset all the router settings to their factory defaults). Now, click on the network icon in the taskbar and select "view wireless connections". Choose your wireless and right click and choose the repair option again. If that doesn't work,
