you turn off system restore, and boot in safe mode,then run the scan, and let it delete them
you may wish to try another virus software program to recheck. you may wish to just quarentine them, but not try to force a removal. you can see what particular virus the tool is reporting and look to see if there is a particular program from one of the virus shops that will specifically remove that virus. the freebe programs are only going to take you so far.
Not all infected files can be healed. Sometimes, files become so infested that any attempt to repair would destroy the file entirely. You haven't said what the files were, but in any event you've got two choices: instruct AVG to delete the files or send them to quarantine so you can study the matter further. By the way, most of the files identified as infected and located in the Documents and Settings directory are nothing but temporary files that can be deleted without worry. If the file is located in your "My Documents" directory then you might want to look into it further. I don't think you need to change antivirus programs, what you have is just fine.
