Is there a way of stoping tasks on task manager from ever starting up?

i have a virus and ive found it on task manager and when i end process it goes for a second and then comes back and i would like to stop it totally. and before you say it yes i have got anti virus protection but its not picking it up so dont reccomend anything to do with antivirus protection

Click on start.. Then Run.. then type MSCONFIG. What you're looking is in there. However. Create a restore point. to be safe. Incase changes you make are unfavorable to your computer.

No, not with the software that comes with the operating system, maybe with other third-party software
If you're sure it is a virus:



1] Turn off System Restore (it's reloading from there)



2] Boot into Safe Mode



3] Run your anti-virus in that mode



4] Reboot into normal mode



5] Turn System Restore back on
Yes, use msconfig. It is a utility that allow you to select or deselect what tasks start on startup. Usually if you can stop the task before your computer ever starts the task it will stop it from respawning. Download the program, run it, deselect the stuff you do not want to start on startup, and reboot the computer.
