We're using Yahoo/Verizon as our ISP. It comes w/ CA Virus Protection.
Is it true that they are going to start charging $5/mon. for anti-virus protection? If so, then I'll probably purchase a different software.

Yup. But it is not for sure, actually Yahoo is busy in making Unlimited storage facilities for its users. If it makes so then more and more people will come to it. Then If it charges then its for no use. Please wait until formal infromation is arrived
