I have major issues on my computer!?

1.the hour glass doesnt go away. i can access everything but the hour glass is a bit eerie

2.my tsk mnger shows that i have 100% CPU usage when im not running anything

3.i have about 45-50 processes running at startup and have no idea what they are %26 what they do

4. recycled.exe and mscvi.exe keep up popping up on the task manager and i cant get rid of it (sounds like a virus)

5. i ran avast virus sweep but it didnt detect anything. it's the only protection that i use other than spybot and ad aware.any free programs out there that i can download for anti-virus, protection, etc. that actually helps?

6.when i enter a cd,it takes about 10-15 min%26several attempts for the comp. to recognize anything in there. it always says no disk in drive.

7.when i do a system restore, my computer still acts weird.

8.some suggested doing a thing that erases evrything and starts the comp like when i first bought it.but i have no clue how to do it.all i have from when i bought it, r recovry cd's.

You have TOO many programs running in the background. Please download and use this free utility which will help you clean up your computer and deactivate these programs which are draining your systems resources. It is FANTASTIC!

PS: If your memory is getting low, burn all of your pictures and document to CD's or a DVD then delete those which you rarely access. They will always be available to you but you will have far more memory available which will help your pc to run faster.
