Hi, I'm running Windows XP. It's updated all the time. I've recently cleaned up my hard disk and defragmented my computer. I've been running Kaspersy Anti-Virus protection without any problems, for the past few weeks. It is also updated automatically. After logging off the internet, I delete all temporary folders, offline content, cookies, etc. I've also deleted programs that I do not absolutely need to have, and rebooted my system. I'm not sure why my computer is running very slow. It only started about two days ago. Kaspersky has been set to automatically scan everyday at 3AM and recently, I've gotten no reports on any threats to my computer. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? My hard drive was wiped clean/refurbished in 2007. Usually when I delete files, it helps speed it up...but, no such luck this time. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
My computer has suddenly started running slow?security
do a online virus scan at bitdefender to see if kaspersky has missed any virus
My computer has suddenly started running slow?trojan
remove unimportant items in the task bar
go to task manager and see which program is taking up most of the memory...
if that doesn't have effect
