Does an Ad-Aware scan do the same as a McAfee scan?

I just downloaded Ad-Aware, it seems that the scan is the same as the scan i do with my anti virus protection in McAfee. Are they the same? help

ad Aware is a spyware scan, while an anti-virus scans for viruses. These are 2 different things. You need protection for both types to adequately defend your computer

yes pretty much, but i'd say that McAfee is a better scanner/remover

it has a larger threat list and is updated more often than Ad-Adware
